Networklearning delivers vital NGO training guides to where they're needed on the frontline.
Over a dozen years the Networklearning Library has grown to encompass 144 separate files covering the issues of the global development world, such as Behaviour Change, Gender, Human Rights and Emergencies & Displacement.
An implementation of Docman serves and tracks the 5,000+ downloads per month. The presentation has been customized to provide a friendly interface for users who are often struggling with a lack of internet experience and slow connections.
The majority of the manuals are available as both .pdf and .doc files. The PDF format guarantees that what you see is what you get and a small file size, while many users are more comfortable with Word – which is also ideal for editing: allowing users to produce localized versions or adaptations of the material.
Networklearning's e-publications are offered for free (under the creative commons license), however organisations with money are invited to make an online donation.
Here's what Aid Workers Network said about the Library:
"At www.networklearning.org there's such a good selection of links to manuals, field books and training courses that when we first came across it we at www.aidworkers.net felt rather jealous. Then we dived in and made use of them. Management to Medicine, Fundraising to the Disabled, Micro-finance to report-writing - they're all there. An excellent site."
